Digital Plans - Ergatta and WaterRower Extra Wide Footboard Upgrade

This is a digital download, not a physical footboard. You get a PDF plan set to build your own Extra Wide footboard for an Ergatta or WaterRower. Nothing ships.

The Extra Wide footboard moves your feet about 2-3" higher and gives you a 7" wider stance than stock. It's the same design I've built and sold by hand.

What's included

• 6-sheet plan set (11 x 17): overview, front and back board layouts at 1:2 scale, hardware checklist, step-by-step install, and bevel detail sections
• Full-size 1:1 drill templates for the front and back faces (24 x 18 in sheets, print at any print shop)
• Letter-size tiled templates (12 pages) you can print at home and tape together

Dual-pin or push-button?

Dual-pin: every piece of hardware is reused from your factory footboard.

Push-button: the push-button foot plates sit at a fixed width, so you convert to dual-pin to get the wider stance. You'll need:

• From WaterRower: WRPP1720 dual pin coverplate set, WRPP1700 dual pin footpad set, WRPP366 strap assembly
• From McMaster-Carr: (2) M8 x 50 mm button head bolts (part 91239A448)
• The HA Woodworks rear strap mount: order the STL file and 3D print your own, or order a printed one from us ($25, shipped)

What you'll need

• A 1" thick hardwood blank (cherry, oak or ash)
• A saw for the curved profile, a hand saw and chisel for the notches, and a saw that tilts for the bevels
• A drill and the bits listed in the plans
• To install: (2) 5mm Allen wrenches, a 13mm (or 1/2") socket, and a Phillips screwdriver

License

Every plan comes with a Personal License: build it for yourself or as a gift. Selling footboards built from these plans requires a Commercial License, sold separately. Please don't share, copy or resell the plans.
