Overview
This website is operated by Homestead Acres. Throughout the site, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Homestead Acres. By visiting our site or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or purchase our products.
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc.
Section 1: Products and Delivery
We sell downloadable woodworking plans in digital form, and physical products. Physical products ship to the address you provide at checkout. For digital products, after payment, you will receive a download link by email and on the order confirmation page. Download links may be limited in number of downloads or time. Please save your files once downloaded.
Section 2: Plan License
Every plan purchase includes a Personal License. A Commercial License is available as a separate purchase. Either way, you receive a license to use the plans, not the copyright. All plans, drawings, photos, and instructions remain the property of Homestead Acres.
Personal License (included with every plan)
You MAY:
- Print the plans for your own use.
- Build projects from the plans for yourself, or as gifts.
You MAY NOT:
- Sell, or offer for sale, any item built from the plans.
- Share, copy, email, upload, or post the plans or any part of them, in print or digital form.
- Resell, give away, or redistribute the plans, including as part of a bundle or class.
- Claim the design as your own or publish modified versions of the plans.
Commercial License (sold separately)
A Commercial License lets you sell finished items you build from the plans. It covers the specific plan you license. All Personal License restrictions on sharing and redistributing the plans still apply.
Violating these terms ends your license. We may take legal action to protect our work.
Section 3: Refunds
All sales of digital products are final. Physical products are covered by our Refund Policy. See our Refund Policy for details.
Section 4: Safety Disclaimer
Woodworking involves risk of serious injury. You are responsible for your own safety, tool use, material choices, and results. Follow all tool manufacturer instructions and use proper protective equipment. Homestead Acres is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from the use of our plans. Verify all measurements before cutting.
Section 5: Eligibility
By using this site, you confirm you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you have that person's consent to use this site. You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
Section 6: Accuracy of Information
We work to keep plans, dimensions, and descriptions accurate. We do not guarantee that all information is complete or error-free. We may correct errors and update plans or descriptions at any time without notice.
Section 7: Prices and Changes to the Service
Prices are subject to change without notice. We may modify or discontinue any product or part of the site at any time. We are not liable to you or any third party for any price change, modification, or discontinuance.
Section 8: Orders
We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including orders that appear to be placed by resellers or distributors. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase information.
Section 9: Prohibited Uses
You may not use the site or its content: (a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to infringe our intellectual property or anyone else's; (c) to submit false or misleading information; (d) to upload malicious code; (e) to scrape, crawl, or spider the site; or (f) to interfere with or get around the site's security features.
Section 10: Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
Our site and products are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homestead Acres is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any product, including plans and anything built from them. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.
Section 11: Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Homestead Acres from any claim, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by a third party due to your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.
Section 12: Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted, and the remaining provisions stay in effect.
Section 13: Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. If you fail to comply with these Terms, we may terminate your access to the site and your plan license without notice.
Section 14: Entire Agreement
These Terms and the policies posted on this site form the entire agreement between you and us. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
Section 15: Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States.
Section 16: Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time by posting changes on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
